I started competing at an elite level in the summer of 2010 where I won a series of county and national titles. To be able to compete at this level requires high velocity training at an elite standard. This training is spread over a six day week with some days taken as recovery days as the body needs a cooling off period.
Towards the end of 2010 I suffered a major hamstring injury, which in turn interrupted my preparation for the summer of the 2011 season.
I was very fortunate to meet Claire Slater, a registered physiotherapist and osteopath from Physio at Work. She was able to diagnose certain imbalances which has aided my recovery and assisted in strengthening core muscle groups to enable me to perform better than the following year.
I make appointments to see Claire twice a week and she conducts a specific treatment to the key muscle groups, in order for me to maintain peak performance.
Claire has taught me many things regarding my body and how it functions, and how to get the best results out of it. I am now able to compete again at an elite level against some of the worlds best sprinters.Next year I aim to be a finalist at the London 2012 Olympics, and as long as I have Claire as my physiotherapist, I have no doubts that I will be there.

I came to Bronwyn and Physio At Work feeling incredibly stressed about the pain my RSI was causing me, and fearful that if my ability to use acomputer diminished that this would affect my ability to do my job. I'd been having pain on and off for around ten years, but as my computer use in my job increased over the past couple of years, my pain had gotten worse and spread all the way into my shoulder and neck. Since then, Bronwyn has worked wonders for me. Within just a few visits, I had experienced a marked improvement in my symptoms, and now, several months later, I am practically pain-free.
What I have found so helpful about Bronwyn's approach to treating RSI is that it encompasses both treatment and prevention. In our sessions, Bronwyn provided tailored physiotherapy to target the problem areas. This was also accompanied by specific and clear information about how to minimize the effects of RSI. Bronwyn has given me advice and tailored guidance on how to adjust my work station setup and be proactive in daily life.
I had been hesitant to buy expensive electronics (such as an ergonomic keyboard) because I didn't want to spend the money without knowing whether it would work for me. However, Bronwyn is well-versed in what is available in terms of ergonomic electronics, software and seating and let me trial these. Unlike a retailer, Bronwyn can provide an objective view on the potential benefits or drawbacks, because she isn't trying to sell you anything herself! After experiencing what a difference a different keyboard and vertical mouse made, I happily bought these and it has made a massive change to my work- minimizing my pain and actually increasing my speed.
Bronwyn wasn't the first person that I came to for help with my RSI, so I knew how lucky I was by the time I found her. The therapist I saw before Bronwyn implied I would need to continue intensive physiotherapy indefinitely - which guaranteed employment for the therapist but didn't promise much improvement for me. However, I have always felt that Physio At Work had my care at its heart, not its bottom line. Bronwyn gave me clear guidelines about what to expect from my treatment and I saw a change within just a couple of sessions as she had predicted. Since I began Physio, I have been able to reduce my number of sessions and still be pain-free, which is great for my budget and also shows the difference physiotherapy has made.
Bronwyn didn't make me promises about miracle cures, but gave me the tools and knowledge to make changes in my life to improve my RSI, which has been absolutely invaluable. I would unconditionally recommend Physio At Work to anyone with RSI problems and I am so grateful for the change it has made in my own life.

Physio at Work has provided Chevron with high standard ergonomic specialists to accommodate our varying work demand. Preventive and reactive workstation evaluations have been provided to employees & contractors in both our London and Swindon office environments as well as remotely to employees in our European offices. Our customer feedback surveys regarding the ergonomic services have all been extremely positive. As a result of their service the number of high risk employees has reduced significantly over the past two years.
I feel confident in recommending the services of Physio at Work to organisations that realise that a professional quality service will be provided. This will ensure that the required result of preventing injuries is achieved.

We have used Physio at Work for many specialist assessments over the past three years; the results have made a real impact across the Institute and enabled us to ensure we are offering the correct support and equipment for our employees. Staff who have been assessed are extremely positive about the experience and the process has helped us to ensure that disabled staff receive the correct adjustments and equipment they need. The assessments also enable us to ensure that other individuals may be able to avoid longer term problems by using the correct recommended equipment. The assessments and reports have always been done within a short timescale and all the physios have been extremely helpful and supportive.
I am very pleased with the dealings we have had with Physio at Work and I will continue to use and recommend their services.

We have been a customer of Physio at Work for several years now and have come to greatly rely on both their excellent friendly approach and their expertise in solving our work related health issues.
We have recommended many of our staff for treatment and are consistently pleased with the speed of service and the results that our staff report.
As well as treating our staff for a variety of work related issues, Physio at Work have also trained us to undertake a certain amount of ergonomic workstation assessments ourselves and will also make the trip to visit our staff at their desks to undertake a more thorough assessment if required. These additional services for us make the company a real all round solution for an industry that heavily suffers from work related problems such as RSI and muscle stresses and strains.

An assessment by Physio at Work shows the business is focussed on the employee's health and safety and allows the company to provide the correct equipment for their well being.
Emma Arthur, HR Manager, Perenco.
Since you and your team came to our offices and reviewed the seating and posture of each of the workers as part of your ergonomic workstation assessments we have all noted a difference. We have all benefited.
One person in particular no longer has persistent neck and upper arm pain which we are sure is due to the revised layout of her work station set up.
I have been pleased to note that team members are much more conscious of their seating posture and encourage each other to sit correctly.
I would certainly recommend your service. It does make a difference.
